Our Team-Based Approach

Many patients choose to begin their care with one of our naturopathic doctors, who take the time to understand your full health picture—body, mind, and lifestyle. From there, they can recommend the therapies best suited to your needs, whether that’s acupuncture, psychotherapy, or yoga therapy.

Our team works collaboratively to ensure your care is personalized, coordinated, and grounded in evidence. While you're welcome to book directly with any of our providers, starting with a naturopathic doctor can help you build a comprehensive plan tailored to your goals.

Please note that our naturopathic doctors are licensed in Ontario, and patients must be located in Ontario to receive naturopathic care at our clinic.
  • Naturopathic Cancer Care
Naturopathic cancer care is a whole-person approach that supports you during and after cancer treatment. Our goal is to help you feel your best by easing side effects, strengthening your immune system, and supporting your body’s natural ability to heal—all while working safely alongside your conventional treatments.

Our naturopathic doctors (NDs) have additional training and experience in integrative cancer care, allowing them to design personalized care plans that complement standard treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy.

Research supports the use of many naturopathic therapies in cancer care, with evidence showing benefits such as:
    • Reduced treatment-related side effects
    • Increased energy and resilience
    • Improved quality of life
What to Expect from Naturopathic Care
Your ND will take the time to understand your health history, current treatments, and personal goals. Together, you will develop a personalized care plan that is evidence-informed, collaborative, and tailored just for you. Your plan may include:

    • Your ND will provide practical, evidence-informed guidance on nutrition, digestion, sleep, movement, and stress—all of which can influence how you feel and heal.
    Nutritional and Herbal Therapies
    • Select vitamins, minerals, and botanical medicines may help to:
    • - Reduce side effects from treatment such as fatigue, nausea, or neuropathy
      - Strengthen immune function and promote resilience
      - Lower inflammation and support healthy cell function

Intravenous (IV) Nutrient Therapy & Mistletoe Therapy

    • For some patients, IV or mistletoe therapies may be recommended to help reduce treatment-related side effects, improve energy, and support the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Your ND will determine if these therapies are appropriate for you, based on your treatment plan and your individual needs.

  • Cancer Support Massage Therapy

Massage therapy can be a gentle and effective way to help ease tension, relieve pain, and promote relaxation during or after cancer treatment. At the Integrative Cancer Clinic, our massage services are tailored specifically for people living with or recovering from cancer. Treatments are adapted to your individual needs, with careful consideration of your diagnosis, treatment history, and any current symptoms or side effects.

During your first visit, our registered massage therapist (RMT) will take the time to review your health history, assess your needs, and create a personalized treatment plan. Depending on your goals and comfort level, your plan may include one or more of the following techniques:

Craniosacral Therapy: A gentle, non-invasive approach that may help release tension in the body’s connective tissue and nervous system. Craniosacral therapy may help reduce pain, promote relaxation and ease emotional distress.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage: A light, rhythmic technique that helps support circulation to help reduce swelling or lymphedema. It is commonly used after surgery or radiation.
Visceral Manipulation: A gentle, hands-on therapy designed to help restore balance and movement among the body’s internal organs, which may support digestion, breathing, and lymphatic flow.
Scar and Wound Therapy: Focused manual work to help soften and mobilize post-surgical scar tissue, support healing, and reduce discomfort.
Neuromuscular Techniques (including electro‑stimulation): Targeted therapies that could calm irritated nerves and may help relieve chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy or other nerve-related symptoms.
Therapeutic Exercise & Rehabilitation: Gentle movement therapy and individualized exercise plans to help restore strength, flexibility, and range of motion after treatment.
All treatments are performed with great care, sensitivity, and respect for your comfort and safety. Our RMT is also a registered Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, allowing her to draw on a unique combination of techniques to help support your physical and emotional well-being throughout your care.

  • Intravenous (IV) Nutrient Therapy
Cancer and its treatments can take a toll on your body, impacting your energy, appetite, digestion and ability to absorb nutrients. IV therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other natural substances directly into your bloodstream, helping your body access the support it needs – quickly and efficiently.

IV therapy can be a safe and effective treatment for a range of conditions and cancer types. At the Integrative Cancer Clinic, IV therapies are prescribed and tailored by your naturopathic doctor to match your individual needs, diagnosis, and treatment plan. Our protocols are carefully selected with your safety, comfort, and goals in mind.
    Types of IV Therapies offered
High-Dose Vitamin C – supports antioxidant status and tissue recovery → Learn more
IV Nutrient & Myer’s Formula – B vitamins, magnesium, and trace minerals for energy and immune support

IV Glutathione – antioxidant support for detoxification, oxidative stress, and tissue protection
    Potential Benefits May Include:
    • Improved Nutrient Status: Some cancer treatments can lead to nutrient deficiencies. IV therapy can help restore vitamins and minerals that support healing, energy, and immune function.
    • Enhanced Energy & Well-Being: By bypassing the digestive system, IV nutrients are quickly available to your cells. This may help reduce fatigue and support overall vitality – especially around treatments like chemotherapy or radiation.
    • Support for Recovery & Repair: Nutrients like vitamin C, B vitamins, magnesium, and amino acids play important roles in tissue repair, inflammation reduction, and detoxification – all of which are important during cancer care.
    • Gentle on the Digestive System: For people experiencing nausea, poor appetite, or digestive issues, IV therapy offers a way to receive nutritional support when oral intake is limited.

  • Mistletoe Therapy
Mistletoe (Viscum album) is one of the integrative therapies we offer to help support your health and well-being during treatment, recovery, and beyond. Used in cancer care for more than 100 years, mistletoe therapy is one of the most widely practiced complementary cancer treatments in Europe and is approved for use in several countries as part of supportive and palliative care. Research continues around the world, including studies at institutions like Johns Hopkins Medicine in the U.S. Read more about mistletoe therapy here.

Mistletoe extracts are derived from a plant that grows on various trees and are carefully prepared as injectable remedies. Ongoing research and years of clinical experience suggest that mistletoe may help support the immune system, improve energy, and reduce some of the side effects commonly experienced during cancer treatments such as fatigue, nausea, and loss of appetite. Many patients also report less pain and an improved sense of well-being while on mistletoe therapy.

At our clinic, mistletoe therapy is always tailored to your individual needs and can be given in two ways:

    Subcutaneous Mistletoe Injections
Subcutaneous injections are taught at the CCNM Integrative Cancer Clinic, and patients continue to do these independently at home. We follow all patients on mistletoe therapy closely with 15-minute check-in appointments as needed. We adjust the dosing during these appointments based on each individual’s response

    IV Mistletoe Therapy
Intravenous (IV) mistletoe is provided in-clinic and administered directly into the bloodstream. Treatment begins with a low dose and is gradually increased over time based on how your body responds. For some patients, both IV and subcutaneous mistletoe are combined to provide a more comprehensive therapeutic approach.

    Getting Started
If you’re interested in mistletoe therapy, the first step is to book a visit with one of our naturopathic doctors. Together, we’ll review your health history, current treatments, and goals, and determine the best way to integrate mistletoe safely and effectively into your care plan.

We’re here to guide you through each step providing personalized, evidence-informed care to help you feel supported and empowered throughout your cancer care experience.
